Application dates and deadlines

For undergraduate courses starting in September 2026 (including foundation degrees and deferred applications), you have from 3 September until 14 January 2026 (the UCAS equal consideration deadline) to submit your application. Universities must consider all applications received by this date equally, and do not have to consider applications received after the deadline.

Applications should be with UCAS by one of these dates – depending on what courses you apply for.

    UCAS Extra opens. If you've used all five choices and are not holding any offers, you may be able to add another choice to your application.

    Deadline for applications for undergraduate courses to be sent to universities.

    Last date to add a Clearing choice.

The application process

The application process: What you need to know

For a full-time undergraduate course in the UK, you need to鈥痑pply through UCAS. It's important to remember the following:

  • The application fee for 2026 entry is £28.95 for up to five choices.
  • The deadline to apply for most courses is 14 January.
  • Our institution code is M80.
  • Our individual course code can be found on our course pages.
  • You will need to supply your personal details, contact information, educational history and references.
  • You will need to complete a personal statement.
  • You may also need to supply supporting documents such as transcripts, certificates, portfolios where relevant.

After you've applied

If you have applied via UCAS, you can check the status or accept your offer in your .

If you have applied directly to us, you can check the status of your offer, upload supporting documents and accept your offer via our .

Other application types

You are considered mature if you are over the age of 21 and you didn't go to university after school or college.

You will need to for a full-time undergraduate course.

Applications are done directly through our for a part-time course.

Once you’ve found the course that’s right for you, you can apply to study at 探花社区 through our , international offices, or via the UK’s .

You will need to provide copies of your academic and English language qualifications, which can be uploaded to our online applicant portal. Find more information on our English language requirements.

If you require a Student Route visa to study in the UK, once you have accepted your offer and paid the tuition fee deposit, you will be issued with a Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS), which you can use to apply for your visa. Use the GOV.UK website to .

You will need to provide the following supporting information so that we can issue your CAS:

  • Bank statements
  • Copies of your academic qualifications
  • Evidence of your English language level
  • A valid passport
  • Tuberculosis (TB) certificate (if applicable)

We understand that students’ goals and circumstances can change, and you may decide to change your degree or Higher Education Provider. If this applies to you, we’re here to support you through every step of the process.

When assessing your application, we will consider the modules you have already completed, the grades you have achieved, and how closely your previous studies align with the course you wish to transfer into.

For non-standard start dates, you will need to apply directly through .

Deferring simply means delaying. It means applying for a course and then taking a year out before starting it. This might be pre-planned, for example if you want to go on a gap year. Usually you can鈥痮nly defer your entry by one year. The conditions of your offer won’t change even though the date does. For example, if your conditional offer is based on attaining ABB in 2026 to start your deferred course in 2027,鈥痽ou must attain those grades in 2026 to secure your deferred place.

You can select a ‘deferred’ start date for your chosen course when you , but it’s important to contact us before submitting your application to make sure we accept a deferred application.

We accept deferred applications on the majority of our courses with exceptions on:

  • Dance
  • Nursing
  • Midwifery
  • Primary education
  • Social work

Extra is another chance for you to gain a place at university, between 26 February and 1鈥疛uly 2026.

If you included five choices on your application, have received decisions from all five, and weren’t accepted, or if you declined the offers you received, you will be able to use Extra. If you use Extra to add another choice, you cannot reverse this to go back to your original five choices.

If you did not use all your choices in your initial application,鈥痽ou don't need to use Extra. You can just and add another choice, if it’s before 30 June, and you’ve not accepted or declined any offers.

If you don’t hold any offers after 2鈥疛uly, you will be able to add an additional choice using鈥疌learing (see below).

Clearing is how unis and colleges fill any places they still have on their courses.

You can use Clearing if:

  • you’re applying after 30 June
  • you didn’t receive any offers from a university or college, or none鈥痽ou wanted to accept
  • you didn’t meet the conditions of your offers
  • you’ve鈥痙eclined your firm place鈥痷sing the ‘decline my place’ button in your UCAS application
  • the course you're applying for still has places
