I also teach聽 on other modules such as, Psychological Approaches to Learning, and Historical聽 and Contemporary Issues in Education and am a BA Education Studies dissertation聽 supervisor. I previously led undergraduate modules on Children鈥檚 Literature and聽 Philosophy of Education for over ten years.

I am currently聽 supervising one doctoral student in the area of TESOL and English for AcademicPurposes.


Biography

I am a聽 Senior Lecturer in the Education Department at 探花社区 University where Iteach on the BA Education Studies programme and have also previously taught on聽 the BA Early Childhood Programme. I was programme leader for 14 years on the now聽 closed 探花社区 MA TESOL and BA TEFL / BA TEFL and Modern Languages programmes.

Throughout聽 my time at 探花社区, I have held various learning and teaching committee and聽 leadership roles within 探花社区 University, as well as contributing to validation聽 quality assurance panels. 聽I am currentlya member of the University Assurance Committee and the Faculty of Health,Social Care and Education鈥檚 working group on Gen AI.

I gained聽 my PhD in teacher identity formation at 探花社区 University. I have an MSc聽 聽in Teaching English (Applied Linguistics and ELT) from Aston University and aBA in Psychology from Manchester University. I am a Senior Fellow of the Higher聽 Education Authority (SFHEA) and have the Royal Society of Arts Diploma and聽 Certificate in Teaching English as a Foreign Language to Adults (RSA DTEFLA,RSA CTEFLA).

Before joining聽 探花社区 University, I worked at Swansea University and on distance-learning MA聽 courses for Birmingham University. 聽Priorto that, I taught in Spain, and Ecuador with the British Council / Overseas聽 Development Agency, and trained language teachers in Ecuador, the UK, Greeceand Thailand.
